Gallery Makeover ProjectHello everyone

Recently my team and I worked tirelessly on a project to help improve the gallery descriptions and thumbnail examples. While that project was indeed tedious with almost 4,000 categories in our system, it was also educational. What I learned from sorting through thousands and thousands of categories was that we have a lot of redundancy and a lot of categories that seem to have been created on a whim that are now simply homes for junk.
Over the years, the desire to appease niche communities and people who just wanted a specific area has led to some categories that go up to 4 levels deep, and it's really no wonder it's so confusing for people to figure out where to submit their artwork.
The conclusion I've come to is simplicity. While I'm not about to rip apart everything and make 6 stand alone categories, I do believe that there is a lot we can do to simplify the category tree. That includes some of the following:

Photomanipulation vs. Digital Mixed MediaWhat is this series?
The "Fix that Miscat" series has been designed to help educate deviantART members about the different galleries to which they can submit their art. Tired of submitting to a particular gallery and having your art moved to a different one? We will help minimize this occurrence by examining pairs of categories that frequently get confused and doing our best to clarify them for you.
What is a Photomanipulation?
What it is:
On deviantART, we define photomanipulation as "two or more PHOTOGRAPHIC elements that have been combined to form something NEW."
This means that:

At least 2 elements must be from photographs.

The result must be something new and different, distinguishable from the original.
What it is not:

It does not involve 3D images, even if there are also photos involved.

Hello, thanks for giving me this lovely opportunity! I am not good at writing about myself.
Anyways, I am into traditional art, photography, and literature. Although I like dabbling into digital art and web design. Besides spending ~~my life~~ time on dA, I am a runner and the youngest volunteer at my local animal shelter.

How did you find dA?
My cousin showed me at the library. I got interested and shortly after, I signed up.

What is your favorite medium of art to work with?

Winter giveaway 2012 had a huge success!
