An important reminder...Since the last rant didn't help anyone understand the consequences of their actions...
I was very serious when I said I would not play games anymore. Again, in just the last few days, we have had an absurd amount of current members as well as potential members harass not just our admin team but random members of this group because they are mad about our rules, deviantART rules, US law, or something even more stupid.
I hate writing these blogs because this is supposed to be a positive group intended to help people. However, it is very difficult for me and the entire admin team (and now unfortunately a group of random members) to be positive or to simply operate and help people when we are being so blatantly attacked and harassed.
So, the bottom line is this:
If I or the Review Team tells you to do something, do it or stop complaining. If I or the Review Team point out and explain to you that your actions are rude and then tell you why they are rude, don't throw a mas

Sight, It's a Precious ThingApril Update ~ We've just hit 4,000 points. That's incredible! Thank you to everyone who has donated, it means a lot. My Grandmother has always loved her garden, her flowers, her sewing and all things beautiful. It's her Birthday today, and I took her the prettiest card I could find, with a huge barrel of flowers and some other bits and pieces. She loved it all. But she's facing a very scary prospect. She could potentially lose the sight in her eyes any day now, due to something called Macular Degeneration. She's on the waiting list for an appointment so that she can get started with some treatment, and we hope that will come through within the next few months, because that's the maximum the Dr says she has before she won't be able to see.

Writer's Conference.Okay, I've calmed down now.
One of the people in my writer's group just told us that there's a conference for writers in Provo, Utah, from February 14th-16th.
There are going to be publishers and editors and agents! The setting is professional, and even if you don't have a finished manuscript, there are seminars you can attend and people you can meet to expand your horizons, even if you're not working for publishing. Every contact counts.
You can also pitch your finished manuscript to an agent. There is a fee for pitching your idea (20$), but you get to choose whom you want to pitch it to, and you get ten minutes with them, face to face. If they love your idea, the price is a small fee for being represented.
There are tons of seminars that they run throughout the conference, such as One-on-One poetry workshops, writing short stories, tricks to writing first person POV, writing a teaser, even entire seminars about J.R.R. Tolkien, and more.

I honestly do not have a clue who this person is, but not having a home is one of the lowest points a human can reach. It saps your energy, it takes your pride, it throws you down a dark hole and kicks you for fun once you get there. It truly hurts.

Improved DMCA Reporting System

Hello, deviants! In an effort to keep the community informed and to provide the best possible experience for our members, we wanted to inform you of changes to our reporting system.
DeviantART is dedicated to protecting our artists, and in an effort to be able to more quickly handle complaints by deviants who have had their rights infringed on, we have changed the way we receive complaints from the artist or the copyright holder.
In the past, we took reports by the copyright holder in two different ways: An informal report via the Report Violation tool and a formal complaint via contacting the Help Desk. While both of these methods were effective, they presented many setbacks.

The informal report did not gather all the necessary information for a formal copyright complaint and was prone to misuse by well-meaning deviants who would attempt to report images they did not own the copyright to

First of all, i thought there are 4-5 ribbons that dedicated to some cancer awareness. But I was wrong, thinking that there are only pink and red ribbons dedicated to breast and AIDS awareness.

The first ribbon that was represented as a meaningful object in history was the YELLOW RIBBON that was mentioned in a marching song, which was sung by the military in the US.

For me:

Yes, i knew about Pink ribbon (breast cancer awarenes), red ribbon (aids awareness), purple ribbon (spirit day awareness) and orange&black awareness

YES! Now I know so many ribbons, and trying to remember information about them all, because i want to know which ribbon i'm supporting.

There are so many reasons why i'm supporting this.
My mom passed away (1st of april, 2012) with cancer (REALLY we don't know how many types of cancer she got! and still don't understand why, because she didn't deserve it!)
Orange&black ribbon - ribbon of saint george, It is widely associated with the commemoration of World War II and especially with the units who were awarded the collective Guard battle honours during the conflict. The ribbon consists of a black and orange bicolour pattern, with three black and two orange stripes. Its origins lay back in the times of the Russian Empire.
I'm supporting Spirit Day.
I'm supporting RED and you know why.
